Sally Roberts Pasquali
I started Slice of Tuscany full time in 2013 in order to help others experience the real, authentic Italy that I have come to know and love. My goal is to eliminate the stress and fear of the unknown that comes with trip planning and travel in Italy.
To date, I have worked on more than 350 trips for couples, families, friends, and small groups with their Italy travel from Venice to Lake Como, Sicily to Puglia, and all the spaces in between. I am honored to help people from all across the U.S. create incredible memories and enjoy the trip of a lifetime.
I moved to Italy in 2010 and began working part time as a wine tour guide in Florence and Tuscany. Over time I became the private assistant to a renowned chef and author, and gave private food tours to her clients on her behalf. In 2011, I spent a year in Rome working as a private guide. Then, in 2012 I dedicated time consulting on the opening of an Italian trattoria in the U.S. Over these years, I was meeting interesting people throughout Italy, who had so much to offer visitors, but did not always advertise their services online.
In 2013 I dedicated myself to Slice of Tuscany full time - using my background in event planning to ensure that my guests receive a start-to-finish experience that cannot be found online or with other travel agencies. It is important to me that my guests are made to feel special and that they enjoy unique, personal experiences throughout their trip – whether it be their first time in Italy or they’ve been 10 times before.
In 2015 I met my husband, Matt, in Florence. He was an American living in southern Italy at the time, but in Florence on vacation. In 2016 we were engaged in Positano, and in early 2017 we moved back to the U.S., were we currently live in Solomons, MD outside of D.C. with our furbaby, Lily. I plan Italy travel full time (doubling my number of clients each year thanks 100% to word of mouth and recommendations), and travel back to Italy several months out of the year doing research, visiting friends, and sometimes traveling with groups.
I am fluent in Italian and have been adopted as an honorary “Florentine” by my friends there. Italy will always be a part of my life and Matt and I often talk about moving back to Italia in the future.
FLORENCE TEAM MEMBER
I first came to Italy in 2008 – a whirlwind trip of only 2 days in Florence was not enough. I couldn't wait to get back.
In 2014 I moved from Australia to Florence permanently - and after studying, working and being married here, the city still hasn't lost its charm.
I'm excited to be part of the Slice team and to help others see my real Italy!
